Focaccia Bread

My Oh my! I need to take a deep breath here. Focaccia is an Italian beauty, a gift to every bread lover. I think I should say it’s a designer bread (Wonder if I could say that?) …
While in an Italian restaurant, a small basket of different types of bread was served on our table, I have to admit, Italians are so good in baking.
Focaccia bread looked different and smelled amazing. One bite, just one bite and I fell in love with it.
It tastes combined pizza dough, garlic bread, and something out of this world. When baking this bread, top it with bacon, onion, vegetables, cheese, roasted garlic, it all will taste wonderful.
One more thing about Focaccia bread, you can make it crispy by rolling it thin. You know what? I’ll let you be the judge.

Here it comes!

Ingredients:
1 cup all purpose flour
Pinch of salt
2 teaspoons dry active yeast
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup warm water (May need less)

For topping:
Kosher salt
1 tablespoon rosemary (either fresh or dry)
1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil

- In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients.
- Add the olive oil and mix well.
- Gradually add the warm water to previous mixture and knead.
- Knead for 3 minutes, then cover and let it rise in warm place for an hour or until double in size.
- Punch the dough and knead it for 1 minute.
- Pat or roll the dough into a triangle shape, place it on a lightly greased baking sheet.
- Cover and let the dough rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 374F/190C.
- Using your fingers make few dimples on the surface of the dough.
- Brush the dough with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and rosemary.
- Bake for 12 minutes, or bake more until it reaches your desired crispness.
